Seasonal Fishing and Boating Permits

FISHING LICENSE

Fishing in Mountain Park Lakes is CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY. ARTIFICIAL BAIT ONLY.

Anyone ages 16-65 years of age; fishing in either of the lakes owned by the City of Mountain Park must have in their possession a current State of Georgia fishing license and a City of Mountain Park fishing permit. Permits are issued at City Hall during regular business hours. Annual fishing passes are $25 per calendar year for residents and $65 for non-residents. Weekly passes are $10 and daily passes are $5 each. Daily passes may be purchased online here.

When applying for your Fishing Permit, please have:

  1. Current Georgia State Fishing License
  2. Photo ID for all anglers ages 16-65
  3. Resident must sign that he/she agrees to abide by all City and State regulations relative to fishing and the use of City property.

Any violation of the above policies or any City, State or Federal rules shall result in the revocation of the City fishing permit. If you see illegal fishing, call the DNR hotline at 1-800-241-4113.

BOATING LICENSE

All boats placed or operated on the lake within the City, must display current year City Boating Permit decals on the port and starboard sides of the bow. Decals should not be modified in any way and must be clearly visible during operation. Boat permits may be purchased at City Hall during regular business hours.

No annual permits or day passes will be issued for gasoline-powered boats or watercraft. Boats with electric trolling motors will only be allowed on Lake Cherful.
