Council

The City of Mountain Park is governed by a mayor and five-member city council, elected to office on staggered four-year terms.

Regular meetings of the mayor and council are held at the city hall or at such other place as may be designated, on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. If the fourth Monday falls on a legal holiday, the council meeting shall be held on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

Carol Silver

 
Carol holds an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Georgia State University and a B.S. ed. from the University of Georgia.  She taught English language arts and English to Speakers of Other Languages in the Georgia public school system for 32 years before retiring in 2019.  Carol has also coached drama, produced 3 dinner theatres, and taught ballet and tap dancing. Mark Murphy
Mayor Pro Tem

 
Mark has a degree in Finance and was an executive in the consulting and IT outsourcing industry for over 30 years. Since retiring in 2016  he has focused on generating funds for charities close to his heart, which include Homestretch, a Roswell-based organization providing temporary shelter for working homeless families, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and the Fuller Center, which provides housing for the poor.  He and his puppy Mosby have lived in the City for 8 years.
